ImageBoss can connect with your images anywhere.Akamai Object Storage
ImageBoss can connect to Akamai Object Storage through its S3-compatible endpoint.
Quick checklist
- Akamai account with Object Storage enabled
- Bucket with your source images
- S3-compatible Access Key + Secret Key
- S3-compatible endpoint URL (required)
Step 1: Get your bucket and endpoint details
- Open your Akamai control center and go to Object Storage.
- Identify the bucket that contains your images.
- Copy the S3-compatible endpoint URL for that bucket/region.
Step 2: Generate read-only credentials
- Create or choose API credentials that can read objects from your bucket.
- Save Access Key and Secret Key.
- Restrict permissions to read/list only when possible.
For endpoint and URL patterns, refer to Access buckets and files through URLs and Getting started with Object Storage.
Step 3: Add the source in ImageBoss
- Go to Dashboard → Sources → Add Source.
- Select Akamai Object Storage.
- Fill the fields below and save.
- Access Key: your Akamai access key
- Secret Key: your Akamai secret key
- Bucket Name: your object storage bucket
- Endpoint: required S3-compatible endpoint URL
- Region (optional): defaults to
us-east-1if empty - Base Path (optional): prefix when images are under a folder
Important behavior
For Akamai, endpoint is required. ImageBoss will not derive it automatically.
Step 4: Validate your source
After saving, test with an existing image path:
Troubleshooting
- Verify endpoint is the exact S3-compatible URL from Akamai
- Confirm Access Key and Secret Key are active and scoped to the target bucket
- Check Bucket Name and object path for typos/case mismatches
- If region is set manually, confirm it matches your Akamai configuration
